Now Download Data at a higher speed with the same internet connection

Today, Fastsoft corporation - a company known for its dedication for speeding up the online communication has introduced a new product - Aria 1000 which speeds up the transfer of any large file over the Internet, without requiring hardware or software on the receiving end. As claimed by the company officials, a 700-megabyte movie file that takes 50 minutes to download regionally via a cable-modem connection can be downloaded in 34 minutes if the sender uses Aria.

If this is true, then it'll be a boon for the slowing up net and the latest web 2.0 demands !!
What i've got to know from the other sites on the net is that Aria is based on the research works of California Institute of Technology also known as Caltech and is based on the concept of utilising the complete bandwidth available to the sender.

The biggest advantage is that it does not need to be installed at the reciever's computer.Only the sender computer needs it to be installed. Thus this allows companies to transfer files over the internet without letting recievers know that they are using it.

During academic trials, Aria which uses FastTCP algorithm, achieved sustained peak speeds upto 101Gb/S - something very intresting to observe.

On July 30, FastSoft will announce its next commercial product in the Aria line: the Aria 2000, which the company says can accelerate throughput to up to one gigabit per second. Pricing for Aria appliances starts at $10,000 and goes up to more than $200,000, depending on model and configuration.

Online Desktops - A review

I've been hearing people using pirated windows(and even some some top notch officials of the Indian Railways using it). The reason was only one'- very high licensing fees. Even after thar, the licensing fees made people resist legal stuff.

Looking at this problem , companies have started to make Windows similar desktops, but the biggest part, you dont have to install them. You just need any operating system(whether open source or legalised stuff) and a browser(preferably firefox, as most of the sites who develop such applications are using Firefox as their base for operating), and a quite fast Internet connectin(atleast actual 256kbps)for fine working of the application.

Basically, they do create applications which run from the web, use flash as a medium of display if animation, and work just like real desktops. This is wonderful for people who can afford only open source OS's and need nice multi-user operations for privacy.

To start with, i'll review three such online desktops which are popular nowadays. These are Ajax Windows(www.ajaxwindows.com), Nivio(www.nivio.com), Desktop On Demand(www.desktopondemand.com) and My Lgd(www.mylgd.com).

Right now, i'll be reviewing only My Lgd , as i have not been alloted an account with the others.

When i opened the My Lgd website, it akked me for an ID and an Password. I just typed some crap there and click icked on login tab. This then routed to a page where i was given an option to log in as a guest, which i wanted. I then entered and saw a moth like thing(which was representing processing). I then went to; check out the features in the desktop. Like any windows desktop, it has a music player witha plylist,; a calculator, a graphics viewer(which takes hell of time and emory to open and opens images with bad quality...........or my slo;w net does everything wrong). It also has a calculator , a notepad for typing all things, folders(for storing your personal files), a file browser, an few small games, a software manager, an email client,a special and a RSS blog reader.

Well, all i can say is that this is a nice looking site, works well, needs no hefty hardware but just a quick net connection .

If you need a good and cheap alternative to Windows with a pinch of Open cource and dont want to do any changes to your present computer, then juse this.

Any comments or experiences welcomed.

Quick Review - E90

Hi !!

I had been hearing about E90 for sometime so i decided to do a review of E90 - which feel is The next gen of communicator .

Starting with the Phone's basic features, it supports HSDPA,GSM 850/900/1800/1900 , clearly showing that Nokia is desperate to get hold of the American market.

It comes in Red,Mocha, Black and Silver colours,

It has the dimensions of 132 x 57 x 20 mm, volume of 140cc and 210g as weight, clearly reflecting that it is indeed bulky - a common feature with business SmartPhones.

It's screen type is a 16 million colors supporting 800 x 352 pixels primary screen.
It's secondry external screen has a 16M colors display with 240 x 320 pixel.

It has a full fleged QUERTY keyboard, something needed in business class phones.

It runs on Symbian OS v9.2 and S60 rel. 3.1, so u can easily download and install all sorts of softwares and games on the phone(the feature i like the most).

It has 64 built in polyphonic ringtones and also allows MP3 to be set as ringtones.

It also sports a vibrator(which was missing in phones like N90 ).

It supposrts Bluetooth,Wi-fi,IR,USB,3G,EDGE and GPRS.

Apart from regular Symbian features, it has a PTT, inbuilt photo editor, and supports video calling.

And know what, it has GPS too, so that you would like to Sahara for camping without the fear of getting lost.

In the end,it has a standard Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery which gives you up to 330 h of standby time and up to 5 h of talktime(as claimed by Nokia).

Seems good for me !

The price is varying at places but is around 550-600Euros (as seen in various sites).

Well, that wrapps up the review.

Please inform me your experiences, sugugestions and comments, if u have anything to share!!

Will see you Later

Activate iPhone without iTunes or 2year AT&T Contract !!

Lets See now !!!

Wht would b more preferable - iPod or iPhone !!!

For me , it's iPhone!!

Reason - works as gud as ipod !!

Confused !!!

Read on !

If u notice , iPhone has a touchpad, so if u try out a few tricks, iPhone wil act like as v3.0 of iPod,

Lech Johansen (aka DVD Jon), who became world-famous after writing a DVD copying software, has published a hack to activate the iPhone without iTunes or the two year voice and data contract from AT&T.

Here is wht i found in the book's sample copy

Add "127.0.0.1 albert.apple.com" to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Download iPhone Activation Server to activate your iPhone for iPod+WiFi use.

Once the process is over, you will be able to use iPhone as a music player, email machine, view and donload youtube videos, use internet enabled on Wi-Fi and more. But the sad part, no calls :(( .

Well, u can still enjoy all those features for free now !
