Vodafone.........a real headache....beware..!

Hey
So here i am writing another blog entry. But this time, its not any review, or any current affair, its about the basic human rights, the consumer rights.

Recently, i had to change the billing address of my Vodafone postpaid. I submitted a self-attested identity proof of the new address, along with two photographs(while the company policy says that they need only one identity proof for doing so, all other documents i gave was a waste for those guys, unless they dont use it for someone else's verification). They verified the details , and after a month, called me up to say that they lost those critical documents and i have to submit them. Such shameless behaviour !
Ithen wrote to the nodal officer, who again apologises and says that the address is changed. More agonising behavour.

But i'm not going to let them go so easily. I'm going to keep on their trail till the day i get a honest answer.

I request everyone reading this to raise voice against such injustice. We must fight for our rights.

Movie Review - Dev D.

What comes out if you mix in an epic story, three non-commercial actors, a smart director catering to an audience who loves vulgarity, a weak story skillfully portrayed as an art movie - Dev.D

Yes, reading the reviews in the papers, i finally decided to take a look at it. It had got a rating of 3.5 star out of 5 by a famous movie critic (i wonder that guy must be dead drink).

The movie shows how a spoilt brat of a rich family is thrown out of home to London to study, and when he returns, he decides to join his childhood love, but due to some misunderstandings and arrogance, the relationship breaks. Mr Dev, unable to digest this tragedy, decides to become a drunkyard, who keeps on sippin Smirnoff Vodka(those Smirnoff guys must be happy for Abhay, he really atleast finished a dozen full bottles while shooting for the movie, except for the publicity they've got). He starts drugs - coke, ganja , n such things(bah....old stuff).

Then one day, he comes in contact with a russian prostitute, who turned into prostitution after everyone had abandoned her. She was the daughter of an Ambassador, who committed sucide after finding out that she was found in a compromising situation with some guy. This Mr Dev impresses her badly.

As time goes on, Dev gets surrounded with a hell of problems. He gets filed for an accident, and gets arrested. Somehow after getting bailed, when he returns, he blows up everything and gets broke. He then misses a fatal accident, and realises that he had been wasting all his time. He starts a new life. The end ! The audience stands up, curses the critics giving it a 5star rating.

I'd give the movie a 2 out of 5, just for Abhay and the other starcast's acting. I'd suggest you to watch some other movie if you have an option, but dont prefer this one at all.

Freak s** maths....

Hii
I found this wierd maths on a blog, and to my amaze, its precisely true ! This is not one of the time-wasting things. It only takes about a minute............work this out as you read it.

1) Pick a number between 1 and 10, to represent the number of times a week you want to make love
2) Multiply this number by 2(just to being bold)
3) Add 5 to the resultant (for Friday night)
4) If you already had your birthday this year, add 1753. If you havent, add 1752.
5) Now subtract the four digit year you were born in.

You should now have a 3 digit number.

The first digit of this was your original number
Add 6 to the last 2 digits, thats your age.

Isn't that true !!

Tips to get successful at your workplace

Hii
While going though some of the HR sites, on one of the sites, i read a few interesting tips on how to get ahead at your workplace. Here are a few points which i recollect from my reading.

1) Understand the business and look at the bigger picture

A good understanding of the company's business and goals gives you the direction and helps you moving towards achieving your own dreams by working for the cmpany welfare.

2) Operate the department like a business

The success of a department speaks volumes about the people working in it. So operate your department as a business, ensure that it gets profitable deals and ensure that you play an important role in it.

3) Give logical opinions backed with data and research

To make people sit up and give value to your opinions, you have to back them with data and study. Research backed with opinions gives you the right kind of forum to express yourself and make people believe in your abilities. This may just give you the right start you always have been waiting for.

4) Develop contacts and networks

To get an important position, it is important for people to know that you exist. Tell them about what you are capable of. If word spreads in a positive manner, even the senior management would want to know how could they utilise your capabilities in a better manner, giving you the right kind of opportunity to prove yourself.

5) Learn new skills

Your skills and knowledge are most important aids in your journey to success. Keep them updated and be ready to use them when required. Moreover, an updated skill set ensures that you are far ahead of your contemporaries when it comes to knowledge and it will help you hetting chosen over others.

6) Enable knowledge transfer

Enable your team members through knowledge transfer. Talk to them and understand the kind of problems that they face and then give them the required knowledge and support to solve the issues. This enables the team members to perform better and has a positive impact on their productivity.

7) Encourage open communication

Lots of things go wrong due to lack of communication and you definitely cannot afford to lose out on important projects due to small issues. So establish proper communication mediums and encourage proper open communication with team members. This ensures that the communication flow is smooth, weeding out the probability of work getting affected due to lack of communication.

8) Never speak ill of the company

Your office may not be perfect, but you dont want to be the person bad mouthing the company, or you risk having your comments parroted back to you.

These are basic but the most important communication tips, which are often missed out in the organisations.

Enough !

For the past few, days, i've been noticing the National Capital. I've been looking at this city since birth, as this city is my birthplace, my hometown. It used to be one of the most wonderful cities on this planet. Clean, neat streets, very less traffic, nice, cultured, ettiqued, learned, generous and mannered people, efficient organisations, and everything in order. Twenty two years on, i see it as a mess. I'd say that we need a bomb blast in some parts of the city to get rid of the filth in the city. people living in slumlike conditions, corruption and bribery in every aspect of any organisation, whether its a bank or a diagnostic lab, people ready top kill each other for 10 bucks, theft, cheating and fraud a common phenomenon. Even doctors prescribe inefficient and excessively expensive medicines, chemists take pride in selling fake medicines and play with the lives on the patients so that they could earn ten extra bucks to buy alcohol. Sincerity ,goodwill and honesty seem like distant, illusionary terms.
Recently, an autodriver , who was taking me to a doctor's clinic, looking at the mess, called Mahatma Gandhi as a man who made serious mistakes, starting from giving independence to a nation of fools, who still need foreigners to look upto, even after being the most intelligent on this planet. It really surprises me that India, the oldest civilization on this planet, has the best manpower in the world(with more than 60% of NASA employees being Indian natives), India starves for intelligence put to use in their homeland. No-one willing to do something for anyone without being insulted. Since the demise of Sanjay Gandhi, India has been in wrong hands. Our politicians are fools, jerks, traitors. Sonia Gandhi,Rahul Gandhi dont have brains at all, and are ruining the great name of 'Gandhi'. All his life, he kept saying that tolerating injustice was a biggest foolishness on the face of mankind, the dirtiest virtue, and though the West idolised his ideals, its a shame that his own nation dont care about them. Almost all of his great nation's occupants are more interested about paper currency, which ceases from use after death, that shortsighted the people are. They've been filling their pockets at the cost of development. With the highest average population density in the world, India is becoming more of a civil warzone.Terrorists, insurgents roaming round here and there, the governments willingly not arresting these criminals, Pakistani and Bangladeshi terrorists creating insecurity and panic, killing people, Nepalis and Bangladeshis illegally infriltrating the nation and making the situations worse, all these show how bad our political system is. All they contribute is in dirt, unemployment, lawlessness, and foul language. While writing this entry, i feel immense pain and sadness. I'd like to change this nation, and show the world what India should be, the world giant, as it used to be. For my western readers, i'd like to tell you that India was the place where Buddha got enlightened, Maths was created with the digit '0', medical sciences came into existance, and still some nations the world think that they're superior because they consume a lot of alcohol and remain drunk. If it wasnt for Indian brains that the computers we're using are there(the revolutionary pentium processor was brought into existance by Mr Vinod Dham, known as the father of pentium processor,, another fellow Delhi'ite). The Indian defence forces are strong enough to capture all territory upto Kabul, and still we're tolerating the Pakistani shit of international terrorism. Even the United States is tolerating thi shit, knowing that Pakistan is the root of global terrorism. You may hang me for saying this, but this is the truth, and its just that people will realise it when its too late. I dont understand why are we still embracing this crap.

Why cant we just make this planet 'heaven' instead of 'hell' ??

Reliance GSM in Ncr

Yesterday, Reliance Infocomm, one of the biggest leaders in Indian telecom launched its GSM services. Its connections are available as low as Rs 25, with less than Rs100 required to get lifelong validity. After capturing the CDMA market along with the American market(with buyingout Flag Telecom),these chaps are set to rule the GSM market too with providing calls worth Rs 5 free everyday for the next three months. Also , night calling free with Rs11 voucher. I had been observing a mysterious network since the last week, but didnt knew it was the telecom giant's footprint.

Seems like Airtel,Vodafone and Idea's worst nightmare came true !
