Movie Review - The Ugly Truth

So i got to see the Gerald Butler Katherine Heigl starrer 'The Ugly Truth'. It had been a talked about movie at the time of its release, so i decided to give it a try. And seems like people at IMDB were quite correct in their predictions.

The Plot:

The movie's set in Sacromento,California. Abby is a producer in a network channel, and is hopelessly desperate for a guy who fits in her checklist. Her show has terrible ratings, and the management brings in a dirty talking relationship advising host Mike Chadway which Abby simply cant stand a second. She comes across her perfect guy who happens to be a doctor.During an argument, Chad makes a deal that he'll quit if his advices dont help Abby out in getting the doctor. A series of events go on, and she eventually gets the guy.

But meanwhile in the process, she gets attracted to Mike, and its same the other way round at Mike's side. But before Mike could say anything, the doctor comes to Abby's place. This leaves Mike heartbroken. He quits the channel, and joins a rival channel. But while watching the old channel's show which he used to host, he gets frustrated at the things Abby says while hosting the show, goes to the show's outbound set, and joins it. By mistake, both Abby and Mike get stuck in a hot air baloon, where Mike pours his heart out. They patch up. The End

Final verdict:
The movie is okay, nothing excellent. Katherine has done a wonderful job in playing the irritating producer, so has Gerald in Mike Chadway's role. The story isn't pretty strong, which basically weakens the film backbone. There are a few directorial loops that one can get once he's done watching the movie.

The music is good. Flo Rida's 'Right round' yet again ends a movie after the insanely hillarious 'The Hangover'.

Overall, the movie is great for pasttime. Though if you watch the whole movie twice, you'll be not wishing to watch it more.

For everything, i'd give it 2.5 out of 5.
