Quick Review - Safari

After all the hyped Safari came for grabs on Windows, i couldn't resist ! You're usin what Mac users get . So i tried it.

I categorised it's ability by viewing the following types of pages

Heavily animated pages
Long text pages
Page load time for RSS authentication(which google uses for it's partner sites)
Availability of features(like Phishing checker)

So lets start.

I tried to open this blog from all the Three browsers i had - Opera,Microsoft Internet Explorer, And Safari.

Opera worked the best, even it was slow but it opened without any hassles.
Internet Explorer just opened it and then started to slow my PC.
Safari just hanged my pc, i had to end the task to get over it.

Now i opened Myspace.

It loaded slowly in all the browsers, as it had a good set of multimedia content.
Except Safari.

Yes, Safari opened it without even slowing the PC. It although slowly loaded the multimedias content, but still worked well.

Then i signed into my Orkut , Gmail and my blog's setup.

Again Safari opened it quicker than any othier browser, with Opera being the slowest, even though it allpwed to browse the page while loading which none other does.

After that, i checked it's features. Dissappointing to see, Safari didn't have a password manager , nor an accounts manager, which all other browsers have. This makes us net addicts difficult to use.
Also Safari doesn't have a phishing filter, even though Phishing has become a widespread nuisance nowadays) !!

I dont get how did Apple forget to add all these features .

Overall , Safari is a nice browser but nee ds a hell of improvement to be ready for final release in the market.

One thing i found out was that, in order to load pages quicker, Safari uses a hell of memory(see the screenshots where the task manager is seen), so anyone with non-ideal hardware requirement for your windows(especially when ram is less than required), then don't prefer it for regular sites !

Well, i'm off now !!
