Ah...what days have come

The recent development in the Indian government vs Indian army chief has become a big shame issue for all of us. The government has really lost its mind these days. Instead of fighting against corruption, or even acting against who're promoting corruption, it is instead trying to put others at blame. And the most shameful thing is that they are indirectly the army chief and relating the matter with his age dispute. Although it acknowledges the complain that General Singh had made with them last year in the vehicle bribe case, it does not give any strong reason as to why they had not investigated into the matter till now. After all, someone has bribed the highest ranking army officer. And the defence minister A.K. Antony has admitted that the General had informed him about this, but he did not take any action.

This is a matter of shame for everyone. The ruling party is alledging the highest ranking Indian army officer who has received medals like PVSM, AVSM and is even acknowledged by the US Army of being a brilliant army officer. Such low has stooped our politicians. Instead of building the nation, the government and the parliment has actually gone ballistic over the chief of army, a man who has risked his life for the nation and who has indebted each of us Indians with his contribution.



Manmohan Singh - he's a complete failure, probably the biggest failure in the history of the nation. This recent episode has proven that for sure.

How to save a phone when it gets dropped in water

Recently, i dropped my phone in water, and it took me around 20 seconds to get it out. After this incident, i thought of googling the issue for a suitable precaution/solution (in case something similar happens in the future).

A site for music lovers

While searching for a David guetta track, i came across a site http://mosuniverse.com/blogs/taj/. The site is actually a blog by DJ Taj - a San Diego based DJ.

DJ Taj shares music, writes reviews, and has also written for a magazine. The DJ seems a complete music enthusiast as he keeps on sharing music on a regular basis. All new tracks are on this site. Even David Guetta's 'Nothing Like The Beat' was released on this site as early as August 23, while the album was released officially on 26th august.

The reviews on the site are good. DJ Taj does show his in-depth understanding of music, and i personally liked the way he wrote his reviews.

And as for the site, its great. its hosted on Wordpress, and allows embedding music. Coming to think of the experience of going through it, the site seems great.

So in case you're a music enthusiast, this is one site cut out for you.

I just received a mail from Sony announcing the takeover of Austrian JV Sony-Ericsson by Sony Inc. The company will now be called Sony Communications limited.

Rainbow's, SDA Market, opposite IIT Gate - Big store, Cheap Act

Recently, when i visited IIT Delhi for their annual technical festival Tryst '12, i was actually in for a rude shock. Being a native of hauz Khas, i decided to give the area nearby IIT a walk. Having been a resident of the area for so many years now, the place is of a 'motherland' kind of a significance to me.

Anyways, the day was quite hot. A friend was with me. We decided to buy a soft drink to cover up for the heat. I prefered Rainbow's. I had been a patron of Rainbow's since my school days when i used to visit their outlet at kalu Sarai.

I placed the order, and took the delivery. But when i paid, i was astonished that i wasn't returned any amount. Rs 3 was due(i had paid 30 bucks in cash). I asked the billling guy about the balance, he told me that there was a special VAT of 20%. I was shocked. 20% was sheer loot. There's no such government law.

I aske dthe owner nearby about this. He said "Yaha Thanda karne ke paise lagte hai". I was astonished. The owner of an old eatery chain chrging so high and giving such a petty excuse for this. The bottle clearly mentioned the MRP Rs 27, Still he was cheating and was shameless. That actually surprised me. I had never expected so.






This was a shock for me, as Rainbow isn't just any small eatery. Its a chain, and a catering contractor, who has served contracts for 5 star hotels like Hotel Chanakya. And still he gives such lame excuse. And to top it all, he gave me a wrong bill (where in India does one get a 500ml Pepsi pet).

It is really discouraging. If such chains cheat with the common masses, its their loss, and even if they know, they do it with no shame. Pity on them

How not to write a CV

I recently read a great article on how to avoid mistakes while writing a CV for an internship. So i'd thought i'd share with you all. Here's the summary from it.

Tip 1:
Don't write uninteresting career objectives irrelevant to the internship

Tip 2:
Don't give personal information like gender, father's name, etc that the employer hardly cares about

Tip 3:
Don't put a declaration and signature column at the end

Tip 4:
Don't give references unless someone asks after viewing your CV

HTC G1 still exists, and is on Sale in India !

I was going through the net when i came across a link that was selling a phone. Opening it gave a big surprise.

The phone on sale was Google's legendary HTC G1 - The very first Android handset on the planet. Long before anybody had even thought of Samsung Galaxy's came the phone from the search Giant. It was this phone that changed the way smart phones existed, and hit Nokia's domination in the cellular phone market badly. This phone was available especially on T-Mobile.

It was taken all by shock on seeing this. Frankly speaking, i didn't believe that i had actually come across this. The pricing for the phone is quite high(considering there are better phones in this range), but then, this phone is part of history. Any technoholic would remember this as the point of beginning of a whole new era.

I still remember when i had first touched this phone. It was a very bulky phone. With its bent design, it was one of a kind phone back then. And people who don't know when this phone released, letme just tell you this phone had released somewhere around 2008. Back then, this was the peak of cutting edge technology.

Apple comes with iPad 4G

News is coming that Apple has released its new LTE enabled iPad 4G. This actually comes as a surprise. Pople were expecting LTE enabled cellphone, but here apple unveils a LTE enabled tabled(probably the first one of its class). This comes as a highly smart marketing move.

CNN calls it the end of 3g pads. But lets come to reality. LTE eployment is rare on the planet. Everyone uses 3G. And the biggest 4G deployer Vodafone is not on Apple's partner list.

Plus high price would be an issue. I personally feel iPad 4G would be a very highly priced product(reports say its around $500 range though i personally think it should touch the $700 mark) considering its the very first of its kind, the Apple label, and the time frame. And people would not love to pay that much.

The Internet changes on 6th June, 2012

And history is all set to be rewritten on 6th june 2012. Yes.

It has been finalised that many major ISP's, home networking equipment manufacturers, and web companies around the world are coming together to permanently enable IPv6 for their products and services on 6 June 2012. This would be the beginning of a new era for Internet and computing.

The event is sponsored by giants like Google, Facebook, Yahoo, AT&T, Time Warner, Cisco, D-Link and Bing. All of them are going to complete their shifting from the traditionally used IPv4 to IPv6. Shifting to IPv6 will reduce server overheads of NAT(Network Address Translation) table, hence increase performance and efficiency.

This is the biggest change some of us will be seeing in Internet computing in our lives(and still probably the biggest, Apple's ecosystem doesn't affect everyone, but the Internet does). How will IPv6 be implemented in India will be a question that time will tell.
