I-Phone sux in India

Hi
According to what i've heard from my friends who've bought Apple's much hyped 'I-Phone' , they say it was a complete waste of their money. The I-Phone sld in India by Airtel and Vodafone are locked , which means anyone who buys these phones cannot change their operator. Also , these i-phones also cannot connect via bluetooth to other bluetooth devices except other i-phones. This means that the users of such phones can only exchange data from other i-phone users. Also, the data connection charges are somewhat high, with Vodafone charging 5p/10kb(only checking the mail would empty our pockets, forget about google maps or gps services).
